Apply a small amount of new oil to the new filter's O-ring.

After the oil stops draining, twist new filter in place and tighten. Do not over-tighten.

Install new plastic lock ring until it is flush, note the tab location.

Install the lock ring screw.
|
Install drain plug with new washer. Do not over-tighten.

Remove oil fill plug with #10 Allen (RH side, top of side cover).

Clean threads, and lightly oil the O-ring.
|
Remove the fairing stay (if necessary) and fill with 3.5 quarts of your favorite oil. I use 20W-50, full synthetic.

Reinstall plug, run the motor for 1 minute, checking for leaks. Let the oil settle, and top off (if needed!!!) to here when the bike is level. Do not overfill.

Clean up, reinstall fairings in reverse order, and go for a ride!
