Remove the belly pan and both side fairings. See 'F4 1000 Oil Change' in my album for details.
Loosen (but do not remove) all four (two per side) mirror stay bolts (#5 Hex bit).
Locate L & R upper fairing stay bolts, in the corner of each side of upper fairing.
Remove both fairing stay bolts (#5 Hex bit).
Stand in front of the bike, grasp fairing with both hands as shown, with fingers on the metal fairing stays, and pull gently towards you.

The entire upper fairing will slide towards you...
...and slide free of the bike.
Inside of upper fairing. Note metal mirror stays, and bolt location.
Fairing stay bolt placed back in hole on bike (for demonstration purpose). Note the signal-light contacts just in front of the bolt.
The only other tool needed besides the #5 hex bit...Lower left, Ice Cold Sam Adams!

Locate rubber boot above front fender, remove it from the lip. Cover stays attached to wiring, just pull it back and to the side.
Remove the blue retaining clip by spreading the wings of the clip on each side.
Blue retaining clip in the removed position.
Using a long, thin, and flat screwdriver, release the clip on the back side of the high-beam Deutsch connector, and unplug.
This is the end of the high-beam bulb. Rotate it towards the right side of the bike (counter-clockwise if you are behind the bike) one-quarter turn, and remove the bulb assembly (requires some wiggling).

Stock bulb assembly, Slyvania 9005.
Alex verifies that it is an automotive bulb from the Slyvania website while I called Auto Zone...They stock this bulb.
Leo the Garage Manager supervised the entire operation. Replace the bulb with new, and re-assemble in reverse order.
